Over 500 busines and financial institutions attended the Responsible Investor (RI) Europe 2015 Summit (2-3 June) in London.
The agenda focused on the critial ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) issues influencing global investment. The implications of climate change, water scarcity and fish stock depletion on investment portfolios and ESG strategies were some of the key topics discussed. Cherie Blair, Chair Omnia Strategy, New Star Asset Management, BNP Paribas Investment Partners, Coller Capital and Colonial First State Global Asset Management were among the speakers. Neil Brown, Alliance Trust chaired the session on Water Risks and Opportunities in Apparel with panellists Dorothy Maxwell, Director The Sustainable Business Group, Phil Townsend, Marks & Spencer’s and Michael Beutler, Kering Group. Dorothy Maxwell presented the highlights from the State of the Apparel Sector Water report The Sustainable Business Group have produced in support of the Global Leadership on Sustainable Apparel Awards (GLASA). GLASA will host a symposium to present the GLASA to water management innovators on 27 August 2015 in Stockholm in conjunction with World Water Week.
